39 Steps brings sunshine and laughter to St Christopher's Place

ST CHRISTOPHER’S PLACE HOSTED LIVE AUDITIONS WITH CAST OF THE 39 STEPS
Yesterday St Christopher’s Place, one of the capital’s ‘villages’ and Selfridges ‘next door neighbour’, joined in the buzz and celebration of sport and culture this Summer - and the expected 25m visitors to London and Oxford Street - by hosting open air auditions to find the area’s Bell Boys - a first for 2012.
The 39 Steps hat routine certainly put the 'boys' acting skills to the test with great guidance from cast members Stephen Critchlow [second from left] and Tom Walker [far right].

* Quite simply the BEST and most enjoyable west end show I've ever seen! Brilliant acting performances from all the cast, wonderful stagecraft and ingenious directing - a must see! - Tamsin Hayward, Criterion * Golly gosh, what a show! I've been wanting to see this show since I heard great reviews about it durin it's West End run so I was delighted to find it was on tour and determined to see it. I wanted to introduce my boyfriend to live theatre as well and knowing this was a spy comedy I figured it was a good starting point. He thoroughly enjoyed it, as did I. :D The actors are absolutely amazing and their ability mime, create laughter and constantly change character is amazing! We enjoyed it so much we kept discussing our favourite parts for hours! A job very well done cast of The 39 Steps! Totally spiffing and what not! ;) Thanks for an awesome evening of entertainment!! (Show seen on 22.04.2013) - Felicity Kirby, Belgrade Theatre in Coventry * Saw the show yesterday, absolutely fantastic, those actors work so hard. Didn't know it was a comedy when I booked, may not have if I had known, found out yesterday morning! So glad, we would have missed a real treat. - Andrea Halliday, Lyceum, Sheffield * Absolutely spiffing!!! What a delight to see pure english humour being lapped up by our American and close European friends. A sheer delight to watch from one of the boxes and absorbed with most pleasure..... Thank you for a fantastic performance David & Andrea ( Kent ) - David Keeling, Saturday 23rd March...Evening show * This is the fourth time I have seen the show, both in the west end and on tour, a fantastic show, superb cast with an amazingly high standard all the way.It would be so easy to get it wrong, but every time, it is right. I so far dont know anyone that didnt enjoy it. Love it. 5 stars - Robin Storer, 23/03/13 * Still smiling from the fantastic evening spent in the presence of four, utterly brilliant actors ,delivering an evening of sheer delight! The intimate theatre allows the audience to share in the slickly- executed , action - packed performances at such close quarters ,that one cannot fail to be swept along ,on a truly magnificent rip-roaring yarn!! Close proximity allows one to witness split -second precision , clever stage-craft and fabulous acting, that simply cannot fail to impress! I defy all young single ladies not to fall in love with the brave handsome Hannay during the Hustings scene! Encore! Can't wait to re-visit! - Chris Stanhope-Smith, Criterion * What a wonderful evening of Theatre. This talented cast of four were absolutely brilliant. Fun and laughter from beginning to end. - Patricia Calder, Theatre Royal Glasgow * I have seen and loved all the film versions of the 39 Steps. So it was with excitement and a little trepidation that I wouldn't love the play as much as the films. It was totally first class, my husband and I can't wait to see it again. It is now my favourite version. Superbly written and perfectly acted. Amazing! - Carole Sage, Manchester * Just seen the 39 steps at the Criterion theatre (6.3.2013) it was absolutely brilliant, slick and very funny, you are captivated from the start with the simplicity of the show and the cast were superb. - John Warne, Criterion theatre * Fantastic! Thoroughly enjoyed this play. Laughed so much. It was fast paced and action packed with amazing actors. I would highly recommend this production to anyone. - christine searl, wyvern theatre, swindon *
